when people go insane gods hide in shame

'The Land of the insane' This was the beautiful name given to Kerala a hundred years ago by Swami Vivekananda on his first visit to Kerala. On November 12 1892 while on his way to kanyakumari he had to alight at shornur railway station as there were no railway lines beyond that. His friend and follower Mr.Sreenivas iyer waited with his palki to welcome Swami to his home at Trichur. He sat abode the palki enjoying the beauty of this heaven on earth.The lush greenery and clustered coconut palms took away his heart,and he must have muttered 'Gods own country' Unknowingly.
The palki carriers as they swung their bodies in motion to their synchronizing tune alerting the people of the arrival of a high-caste person. At a place called Mullakkara, swamiji happened to witness how a man was being pushed to keep away from the road. When asked he was told that it was a custom prevailing in Malabar or northern Kerala that a man of a low caste should hide himself if a man of a higher-caste was on his way. His shock and disbelief of the event knew no bounds and at his welcome speech at madras he called Malabar 'The land of the insane'. We need to pay our gratitude to B.R. Ambedkarji and Sree Narayana guruji who helped in wiping out the caste system and thus erasing the name given by swami vivekanada.  Thus eventually we got our present name 'Gods own country. But even after 100 years, swamijis words have been proven true time and again.The insanity of the people are making our gods hide their heads in shame.The temples of Kerela are now getting biased with caste. Ezhava, nair, konkani, kudumbi and so on many many castes.The muslims are a sunni-shia division since time immemorial and have been killing and shedding blood in all muslim countries. Christians are not an exception.Their one and only one god the Christ is divided between syrians, latins, jacobites, marthomites and romans. Some believe in Christ and the others say only  mother is god. Father Joseph has no role to play....? The recent fights of churches dragged poor Christ to the court and he must have found peace and solace somewhere outside the church because those who preached, themselves needed awakening and enlightenment. A little before the church fight we had Shri Padmanabha in the news and it had been a subject of debate for sometime. And for that much time the people took a sigh of relief thinking the wealth would be used for the well being of the poor.The event of finding such a huge wealth(one lakh crore) from the age old vaults of the sleeping god vishnu at trivandrum was a proud celebration for the devasom board, ruling party and the opposition. Some famous writers wasted their time and ink on suggestions. A little state on the southern tip of india got instant fame nationally and internationally. It became the "gods own country" in the true sense.Well known astrologers burnt their brains and came up with astronomical answers, "Shri padmnabhans wish was that the wealth be untouched". He was dragged unnecessarily into the whole drama. So as to not be accountable for the insanity of a few who thought of themselves just below the rank of the god, the lord too left the temple premises and hid himself in shame for being the wealthiest god and not being able to help his poor and hapless followers.Thousands of people die of life threatening sickness due of lack of funds for treatment, thousands of children refrain from pursuing higher studies because of their poor background. In gods own country of 100% literacy, we lack brains, minds and a heart to do the right things in the right time. Lets pray for the best to happen before the gods leave this world.

Every action of a man is an internal orientation. It may be a good one or a bad one. Every action reflects a pesrons character. There is an outer being and an inner-being. Just as we make-over our outer-being in all possible ways to look attractive,the same way our inner being also needs a replenishing, as this is the way to polish your mind and soul, because it is the highest form of consciousness and intelligence which deserves a freedom or detachment from the body.
